Employers & Work Life Balance Logo

Nationwide is a founder member of the Employers Forum for Work-Life Balance. As part of our longstanding support of flexible working practices, we allow all employees the opportunity to apply for flexible working hours, which is over and above the existing statutory requirement.

More than a third of Nationwide employees work flexibly, which is around 12% higher than the industry benchmark of 27%.

We invested over £8 million in 2006/07 in a wide range of health and wellbeing services to employees. These included flexible working arrangements (annualised hours, condensed working week, home working and flexi-time); a 24 hour counselling service; absence support and return to work programmes; discounted gym membership and health screening.

Business in the community Nationwide’s policies were recognised with a Business in the Community ‘Healthy Workplace’ award. Please click to see case study.
