New Nationwide Education website
Nationwide Education is part of Nationwide's commitment to the community.
We believe the future of our community depends on the education of our children. Nationwide Education is a free online educational resource, designed to help stimulate and raise awareness amongst children in the communities in which we work, particularly in the areas of road safety, financial capability and environmental issues.
- In October 2007, the first of Nationwide Education's road safety programmes 'Be Safe, Be Seen' was launched, and builds on Nationwide's ongoing commitment to distribute Cats' Eyes for Kids reflectors to young school starters until 2010.
- The first of Nationwide Education's financial capability programmes, aimed at 4-11 year olds, was launched in September 2008. 'Counting on Money' and 'The Cost of Money' use fun, interactive education materials to increase awareness of financial understanding, competence and responsibility.
- In spring 2009, the first environment programme for primary schools will launch with more to follow in the next two years.
Nationwide Education engages children through fun, interactive games that contain serious messages. Resources have been designed for use on interactive whiteboards and PCs, as well as providing downloadable PDFs, making it easy to use Nationwide Education in the classroom or at home.
There are sections for children, teachers and parents each providing an extensive range of in-depth information. For teachers there are fact and work sheets, curriculum links and extension activities, and for parents tips to help at home, suggested activities and discussion points.
Further exciting programmes for secondary school pupils will follow over the next two years.
We hope that you enjoy Nationwide Education and the wealth of educational material it provides.
