How will the change affect my accounts? - This link is used to show and hide related content.

For Dunfermline customers you can access your accounts from any Nationwide branded branch and via Nationwide Internet Banking – if you’ve registered.

For Cheshire and Derbyshire customers nothing is changing now but any accounts you hold will be automatically transferred to Nationwide. You will then be able to access your accounts from any Nationwide branded branch and via Nationwide Internet Banking – if you’ve registered.

If we need you to do anything further to manage your new Nationwide accounts, we’ll write to you personally with all the details and instructions you need. If you use a passbook to access your account, please keep hold of it as you’ll need to use it the first time you access your new Nationwide account in branch.

Being a member of Nationwide Building Society offers the same rewards as being a member of your old Building Society. Nationwide are proud to share the same mutual principles and we promise to share the rewards of its success with its members.

This means you’ll have access to a greater choice of products – such as current accounts, credit cards and personal loans – plus, you could be rewarded with our best rates. Also, if you have a Nationwide credit or debit card you can access discounts on major high-street brands when you shop as well as one-off treats and offers.

Nationwide expects to convert many branches into Nationwide branches, where they will continue to serve the communities in which they are based. Exact details will be confirmed a little nearer the time.

If you are currently a Cheshire or Derbyshire customer, when integration begins, we will send you details about:

  • Your new branch
  • Any changes to the products you hold
  • The proposed date for migration weekend
  • When and how your accounts will be transferred
  • The date when migration will be complete
