Nationwide is the UK’s third best big company to work for according to a major independent survey.
Best Companies’ workplace survey which anonymously interviews employees for companies across the UK has revealed that Nationwide is the UK’s third best big company to work for.
The accolade has been welcomed by Nationwide’s Group Director Alison Robb. She said: “This is excellent news and shows how focusing on doing the right thing for customers goes hand-in-hand with being a great employer. Investing in our employees and valuing their contribution has made Nationwide what it is today – a financial services organisation that’s trusted by millions with the highest level of customer service on the high street.
“I’d like to thank all our employees for their ongoing commitment to make Nationwide a successful and sustainable business which supports communities across the UK.”
The society employees more than 17,000 employees across the UK and has around 700 branches as well as admin centres in Bournemouth, Swindon, Dunfermline and Northampton.
Nationwide’s third place echoes its own anonymous annual employee survey which shows that 93% of employees are proud to work for Nationwide, 88% would recommend Nationwide as a good place to work and 92% believe that the Society provides benefits that meet their needs.
The accreditation is due to Nationwide receiving a high score in Best Companies’ survey, which examined the ins-and-outs of company life within organisations across the UK. The survey reveals how employees really perceive their work environment.
What Nationwide’s employees say:
Apprentice, Jack Scott, who started at the Society last year said: “Before joining Nationwide I did work experience here and at other companies too. There’s something about the culture that I liked at Nationwide and I felt it even on day one – its values run right through the organisation and have an impact on how we treat customers and our colleagues.”
Employee of the Year, Jess Aulak, said: “Nationwide is a fantastic employer because we really do put our customers and employees at the heart of everything we do. People are treated equally and with respect and in my experience we everyone wants to help each other – it's the culture which has been created that is the key.”
Julie Turner, Yeovil Senior Branch Manager said: “Nationwide makes me feel motivated and gives me the ability to motivate others, so I am really engaged and love my job. I feel really proud to work for a company that puts its people and customers first.”
