Nationwide launches new ISAs

26 February 2014

From today, Nationwide Building Society is launching new issues of Flexclusive ISA and Easy Saver ISA. The new issues pay the same rates as the previous issues, but no longer include an introductory bonus as part of the rate.

Flexclusive ISA

Flexclusive ISA (Issue 7) pays 1.75% AER*/tax-free variable. Flexclusive ISA is available to main FlexAccount, FlexDirect and FlexPlus current account customers and to those who open one of these current accounts using Nationwide’s Current Account Switch Team.

The account allows new cash ISA subscriptions only with a minimum opening balance of £1. Unlimited withdrawals and deposits can be made, subject to the cash ISA allowance.

Easy Saver ISA

Easy Saver ISA (Issue 5) pays 1.60% AER* tax-free variable. The account allows new cash ISA subscriptions only with a minimum opening balance of £1. Unlimited withdrawals and deposits can be made, subject to the cash ISA allowance.

Easy Saver ISA (Issue 5) is also available via the Cheshire, Derbyshire and Dunfermline Building Societies.

Flexclusive ISA (Issue 6) and Easy Saver ISA (Issue 4) were withdrawn from sale on 25 February 2014.

Louise Lovelock, Head of Savings Customer Proposition at Nationwide Building Society, said: “Nationwide rewards main current account customers with access to our most competitive deals. Flexclusive ISA is available to main current account customers and pays one of the highest rates on the market.

“If customers don’t hold a main current account with the Society, then Easy Saver ISA offers a competitive rate of interest for those who are yet to invest their annual ISA allowance.

“These ISAs provide customers with the reassurance of instant access, so customers can access their money if they need to.

“With the current tax-year coming to an end in a little over a month, savers need to act fast and use their current ISA allowance before they lose it.”

Notes to editors:

* AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest were paid and compounded once each year. Tax-free is the contractual rate of interest payable where interest is exempt from income tax.
