Nationwide’s members help raise over £175,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

At Nationwide Building Society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), held today at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the votes of over 875,000 Nationwide members helped to raise a total of just over £175,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.


Ordinary Resolutions

The following three resolutions were passed:

1. To receive the Annual Report and Accounts
For: 859,852 (98.97%) Against: 8,945 (1.03%) Votes withheld: 6,276

2. To approve the Report of the Directors on Remuneration
For: 798,323 (92.54%) Against: 64,351 (7.46%) Votes withheld: 12,372

3. To re-appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as Auditors
For: 839,006 (96.95%) Against: 26,437 (3.05%) Votes withheld: 9,636

Accordingly, all of the Directors standing for election/re-election were elected/re-elected (as appropriate).

In addition, members have shown their support for Nationwide and its directors who have overseen a strong year for the Society in a challenging economic environment.
