Nationwide Building Society's Dan King, Senior Manager, Banking, has been crowned Nationwide Employee of The Year at the Society's annual employee awards. The Society's most prestigious accolade was awarded to Dan from North Swindon, in recognition of his focus on delivering an excellent customer experience.
Alison Robb, Nationwide Group Director, said: "Congratulations to Dan on winning the award. To receive the top prize out of a company of 15,000 employees is a truly brilliant achievement.
"Dan is passionate about great customer service, and his delivery focus means he is always looking for ways to improve how we do business with our members. He is a very hard worker, and his energy and enthusiasm is infectious, inspiring the trust and confidence of those around him. He is a fantastic leader of his team, ensuring he gets the very best out of them and raising the bar on performance."
The Annual Awards Event is the highlight of the Nationwide calendar, recognising the Society's highest performers for their commitment to delivering excellent customer service, maximising their performance, and being an inspirational force amongst their colleagues. Nationwide's top performers from across the business attended the event and shared the celebrations.
Dan was recognised for:
- consistently excelling in all key areas, exceeding targets and being instrumental in supporting the Society's banking strategy
- developing an impressive track record of delivery, and understanding the needs of the business
- maintaining exceptional energy and enthusiasm and having a real 'can-do' attitude
Speaking at the event Dan said: "I'm completely overwhelmed to have won. I am now really looking forward to getting back to see my family and team – this recognition is as much for their hard work and support as it is for me."
Also being recognised at the annual awards was Paul McAllister, Head of Customer Services for Mortgages and Savings. Paul won the Executive Leader of the Year award and was commended for his hard work in delivering customer service improvements.
